ROMULUS

Bearing the symbol of the fasces, the Romulus was introduced as an AI controlled lictor. Lauded as a solution to lictor corruption and resultedly an end to magistrates being assassinated by their own bodyguards, Romulus models were manufactred in droves.

Catastrophic accidents led to a return to wet-ware plebian lictors, who often now find themselves defending against assaults by decommissioned Romuluses directed by competitive parties who also hold imperium.

SEQUESTER

A group of desperate bandits wring what little worth they can from the surivivors that spot the dust-blasted wastes along the Urals. They descend from higher ground, beating scavenged drums and taking cover in the shadow of their bullet-spewing saintly idol: the Sequester. Completely silent but cooperative in the raids, the Sequester only takes regular infusions of water and canned food in exchange for its presence; something that has effectively turned the bandit group into a incontrovertable force of nature that strips everything to the bone and leaves only human misery in its path. It is devoutly worshipped by most of the bandits as some sort of nomadic holy site; a walking bulletproof Tabernacle. Some, under the influence of drink have discussed amongst themselves their theories on its nature as a military robot in service before the missiles fell, now aimlessly fighting according to some gameplan devised by its long gone original directors. Recently there had been a man who had joined the bandits briefly and was struck aghast when he first witnessed the Sequester. He spouted long and detailed stories about what the robot actually was, that the Sequester was a NATO QAPS unit, or Quadruple Amputee Power Suit, not a robot, and he desperately ran his hands over it looking for some access panel. He stammered that it appeared to be running autonomously, keeping its pilot cut off from the outside world, but still taking in food and water to keep him alive. His heretical calls for help in "kracking open the damned thing to save the poor bastard inside" were completely rejected, and the more pious bandits hastily had him broken on a wheel and left for dead.

DAJJAL

Built by the Royal Family as a grandiose military deterrent, the Dajjal towered above the ground; sealed from any future interference, autonomous and powered indefinitely by its fusion power plants. Initially this building sized cipher was stationed immobile in the capital, funded, maintained, and hailed by a public relations firm bankrolled by an untraceable line that did not appear to lead back to the state. At a particularly high point of global unrest the Dajjal suddenly slinked into action; leveling the capital in which it resided. The nation's other strategic robots were quickly torn asunder by the Dajjal on its obtusely apparent objective of leaving the country, where it commenced on a campaign targeting national capitals one after the other. No emergency plans proved effective, and none of the extreme options ranging from nuclear arms to the prize strategic robots of the world's superpower could halt its progression. Rapid intelligence gathering discovered that anything relating to the production of the Dajjal were completely falsified down to the last detail. The Royal Family, now completely unnaccounted for, and possibly deceased in the destruction of the capital, are the only known link that may be able to shed light on this global terror that seemed to come into this world from nowhere and was now engaged in some terrifyingly unknowable campaign.

ARCH GUARDIAN

Increasing amounts of both urban conflicts, and a rising population in areas prone to natural disasters, created a demand for a quickly deployed victims’ aid robot. The S19 Syringe Saint is fitted with five articulated air jets that keep it afloat as it steps nimbly across hazardous ruins, scanning the area for the injured with its array of sensors

CHERUBIM

Shaped from proteins, this nanobot travels through human bodies performing delicate surgery, or perhaps clandestinely delivering minute payloads of deadly poison. Nanobot is something of a misnomer, the Cherubim is actually only microscopic in size, but can work on a subatomic scale. Wholly organic, the Cherubim can actually self-destruct and be absorbed by the system it dwells in, leaving no currently detectable trace

ORBITAL DELEGATE

An exhaustive overhaul of the Second Soviet space program’s astronaut buddy system. Mounted with independent and solar power sources, and equipped with dual Gauss guns, the Orbital Delegate now circles the earth shooting down any satellites that contravene the GMSSR’s sanctions and treaties

ASSAULT DOLL

The second model in a series of combat robots intended for MOUT deployment (Mobile Operations in Urban Terrain). The Mk2 is built primarily with plastics (highly resilient, flexible, and light weight) and reactive ceramic armour. Quick and agile, the Mk2s utilise speed and surprise in guerilla warfare, and are effective against both soft and hard targets. The Mk2 has performed admirably in field use, and suffers only from restraint issues; incidences of friendly fire in which whole detachments of allied infantry have been wiped out are commonplace. Studies have shown that a female appearance significantly deters return fire from human combatants, and this empathic delay adds precious seconds for the Mk2 to close in on its target. International weapons trade of the Mk2 is steadily climbing, despite high manufacturing costs, and expensive maintenance

SUB HUNTER

In an age where nuclear, biological, and chemical warheads are primarily delivered by submarines, anti-sub roles are numerous and highly developed. These robots are too small to detect with any passive systems on submarines, and can silently approach the nuclear leviathans to drill explosive charges into the hull. Modified sub-hunters have even been used by asian and south american pirates to board and assault tankers and merchant ships

Top 10 Clowns You Don’t Want To Mess With

First off, apologies to all with coulrophobia (the fear of clowns) – this list is entirely dedicated to the subject. I am neither afraid nor a fan of clowns, but there is something about the concept which I find strangely unsettling. Even the happiest clowns seem to have something not quite right beneath the surface. Perhaps this is the reason that so many people are afraid of them. In this list we look at ten fictional and non-fictional clowns that should be familiar to most.

10. Krusty

Krusty the clown should be well known to everyone reading this list. He is, of course, one of the characters from the popular television program The Simpsons. Krusty is famous for being loved by all the kids for his humorous antics on the screen, whilst being rather different offscreen. Krusty is a hard-living entertainment veteran, sometimes depicted as a jaded, burned out has-been, who has been down and out several times and remains addicted to gambling, cigarettes, alcohol, Percodan, Pepto-Bismol, and Xanax. He instantly becomes depressed as soon as the cameras stop rolling. Krusty wastes money almost as fast as he earns it: lighting his cigarettes with hundred-dollar bills; eating condor-egg omelets; spending huge sums on pornographic magazines; and losing a fortune gambling on everything from horse races to operas to betting against the Harlem Globetrotters. So why is Krusty on this list? For the simple reason that a person who takes copious amounts of drugs and booze, and sells products that kill (cereal with a jagged metal Krusty-O in each box) – can never be trusted!

9. Pulcinella

Pulcinella, (often called Punch or Punchinello in English) is a classical character that originated in the commedia dell’arte of the 17th century – a form of professional masked theatre. His main characteristic, from which he acquired his name, is his extremely long nose, which resembles a beak. His traditional temperament is to be mean, vicious, and crafty: his main mode of defense is to pretend to be too stupid to know what’s going on, and his secondary mode is to physically beat people. Pulcinella has appeared in a round about way in modern fiction as well; Konrad Beezo and his son Punchinello are the antagonists in the novel Life Expectancy, by Dean Koontz. While by no means the most evil of clowns on this list, Pulcinella can be said to be a progenitor of the evil clown genre and definitely deserves an entry here.

8. Ronald McDonald

This is no joke. Ronald McDonald, the famous mascot for the fast food joint is a clown you don’t want to mess with! The reason, however, is slightly different from some of the other entries here. Most countries with McDonald’s have a Ronald McDonald actor who will often be hired for children’t parties. Because he is so famous and drives kids wild, he travels with an entourage of bodyguards – other McDonald’s staff who are trained in the job. Now this is where the danger comes in. If you are a kid and you get too close to Ronald, the bodyguards are trained to keep you back – with violence. My cousin was trained as a bodyguard and the methods he was taught included pinching children and stamping on their feet. So remember – next time you see Ronald, keep your distance. You might end up injured. Incidentally, in case you can’t tell, the photo above is of Ronald McDonald being arrested by the New Zealand police.

7. Doink

In the early 1990s, an evil clown character was featured in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). Doink the Clown was portrayed as a villain early on in his career. He would do cruel things such as pop children’s balloons with a cigar, splash water on the audience, and use a fake prosthetic arm to attack opponents. Once he even attacked an opponent with a car battery. His entrance theme music was a typical happy circus tune (“Entrance of the Gladiators”) which would quickly segue into dark and menacing music, complete with evil cackling sound effects.

6. Killer Clowns

A list like this would not be complete without the Killer Clowns from Outer Space who star in the movie of the same name. An army of sadistic extraterrestrial life forms (who resemble clowns) land their circus tent ship in the sleepy American town of Crescent Cove. The Klown Army advances into Crescent Cove, inflicting a genocide during their occupation. They harvest the unsuspecting population, blasting random victims with a ray gun that cocoons them with cotton candy, with lethal results. The Klown Army uses a variety of seemingly innocent methods to ensnare their victims such as killer shadow puppets, bloodhound-like balloon animals and a ray gun that looks like a child’s toy. Since the methods themselves appear whimsical, the townspeople don’t know they are in danger until it’s too late. It isn’t quality, it isn’t serious, but it sure is ridiculously funny.

5. Ubu Roi

Ubu Roi (King Ubu) is a play by Alfred Jarry, premiered in 1896. It is one of the precursors to the Theatre of the Absurd and the greater surrealist art movement of the early twentieth century. The main character Ubu (who is certainly a clown-like figure) lives in a world of greedy self-gratification. He is an antihero — fat, ugly, vulgar, gluttonous, grandiose, dishonest, stupid, jejune, voracious, cruel, cowardly and evil. Like Macbeth, Ubu murders the king who helped him on the urging of his wife, usurps his throne and is in turn defeated and killed by his son. In its first performance, after only the first word (“merdre”, the French word for “shit”, with an extra “R”) a riot broke out and the play was banned from the stage so it moved to a puppet theatre. It has since had a very popular revival in theatre.

4. Poltergeist Clown

Those of you who have seen the excellent horror series “Poltergeist” will remember the clown scene in which the young boy is assaulted by his toy clown. There is not a great deal of information available on this scene but the image above should suffice to remind you all how horrifying it was. The scene has been parodied in both Family Guy and Scary Movie 2 (in which the clown sexually assaults his victim). The famous clown scene is not the best in the film, but it is certainly one that makes it worth seeing.

3. The Joker

The Joker is the famous wicked character from the Batman stories. Probably the most sinister portrayal of the character was the most recent by the late Heath Ledger who managed to bring a much more believable evil to the screen. Throughout his original comic book appearances, the Joker was portrayed as a master criminal whose characterization varied from that of a violent psychopath to a goofy trickster-thief. His appearance is not typical of most clowns but he shares sufficient traits with them that he should certainly to be included in the genre. The origin of his looks varies from source to source, but the most common is that he fell into a vat of chemical waste which bleached his skin, turned his hair green, and made his lips bright red.

2. Pennywise

Pennywise is the shapeshifting eponymous character from the Stephen King book It. In the overall scheme of King’s writing, It comes from part of the greater universe that also encompasses some of his other writings. While It appears mainly as a clown (particularly when stalking children) it also appears as a giant spider. Humans never truly see its full form as it “naturally” exists beyond the physical realm in a place called the “deadlights”. Every thirty years, It comes back to life to terrorize and destroy. At the end of the novel, It is revealed to be female and it lays eggs.

1. Pogo

Pogo had to be number one on this list for one very good reason: if you messed with him, you really would end up dead. Pogo was the name of the clown character used by John Wayne Gacy to make connections with young men so he could rape, torture, and murder them. Gacy taught himself how to apply clown makeup and made all his own costumes. In a strangely ironic way, he intentionally painted his mouth with sharp corners instead of the normal round corners which are generally preferred so as to not frighten children. Gacy performed countless times at local children’s parties and hospitals. There is no doubt he epitomizes the concept of the “evil clown”. Pogo’s death toll is 25 – 30.

Usia 17 Tahun Tapi Wajah 1 Tahun

Melihat foto di atas, mungkin tidak akan pernah menyangka kalau bocah perempuan dalam gambar ini sebenarnya sudah berusia 17 tahun. Akibat mengidap suatu kelainan genetik, gadis bernama Brooke Greenberg ini tampilan fisiknyanya tampak dalam tubuh seorang anak berusia setahun. Didiagnosis dengan kromosom peculiarity atau sindrom genetik, perempuan yang sekarang berusia 16 tahun , Brooke Greenberg, tidak berkembang sesuai dengan usianya.

Brooke, yang lahir di kota Reistertown, Baltimore, Amerika Serikat, mengalami kelainan dalam pertumbuhan baik secara fisik maupun mental. Tubuhnya hanya setinggi 30 inci dan pikirannya seperti anak berusia satu tahun.

Pada saat dilahirkan, tidak ada keganjilan yang tampak pada Brooke. Namun, sebelum usia dua tahun, ia mengalami beberapa kejadian yang tak bisa dijelaskan secara medis. Seiring bertambahnya usia kedua orangtuanya, Melanie dan Howard, semakin menyadari kalau anaknya ini tidak tumbuh dan berkembang secara normal.

Para dokter tidak dapat memberikan penjelasan secara medis terhadap kelainan yang dialami Brooke. Namun, mereka yakin bahwa sebagian besar bagian tubuhnya tidak berkembang dan terkoordinasi sebagaimana mestinya. Brooke sebenarnya bisa bergerak dan mengenali suara, tetapi ia tidak bisa bicara. Tulangnya pun mirip anak berusia 10 tahun, tetapi giginya masih seperti bayi.

Para dokter benar-benar bingung dengan kelainan ini. Mereka pun sempat menduga Brooke mengidap penyakit yang disebut Syndrome X. Namun, sebuah kajian awal terhadap DNA-nya mengindikasikan bahwa kegagalan tumbuh kembang yang dialami Brooke mungkin berkaitan dengan suatu kecacatan gen yang juga berperan dalam proses penuaan manusia pada umumnya.

Para peneliti berharap, dengan menganalisis lebih jauh DNA Brooke, akan ditemukan sebuah petunjuk awal dari proses penuaan dan bahkan dapat menciptakan suatu terapi baru dan pengobatan bagi penyakit yang berkaitan dengan usia lanjut.

Menurut rencana, para ilmuwan terkemuka dari pelbagai penjuru dunia akan berkumpul dalam sebuah konferensi di London, Inggris, pada pekan ini. Mereka akan mendiskusikan sejumlah temuan berkaitan dengan kelainan yang dialami Brooke.

Ayahnya berpikir dia adalah “fountain of youth” dan ingin tahu mengapa tubuhnya tidak berkembang. Menurut Ilmuwan Giginya sama dengan anak balita dan tulangnya sama dengan anak berusia 10 tahun di usianya yang ke 16 tahun ini. Otaknya tidak berkembang sesuai dengan yang seharusnya dan organ dalam yang tidak sinkron. Seperti di beritakan situs Thaindian.com di sisi lain penyakit kebalikannya adalah Progeria syndrome dimana inti sel menjadi tidak stabil yang menyebabkan penuaan lebih cepat dari waktunya.

Brooke tidak pernah berbicara dengan suara bayi. Pada saat yang sama ia tertawa ketika melihat kakaknya bercanda . Ibunya percaya bahwa anaknya, Brooke, mengalami perubahan setiap harinya namun tidak dalam bentuk fisik tetapi dalam hatinya. Dia sekolah di Baltimore Sekolah Umum pendidikan khusus di bagian khusus untuk anak-anak.

Brooke Greenberg, keluarganya mengatakan, memiliki kekuatan luar biasa dalam penyembuhan. suatu ketika ia didiagnosis dengan tumor otak, dia tidur selama 14 hari dan bangun dengan tumor tidak ada. Dia juga memiliki serangan otak yang menurut pernyataan dokter bisa menjadi stroke, tetapi dia kembali sembuh tanpa merusak apapun. Keganjilan lain dalam masalahanya adalah siklus kehidupan. Dokter tidak tahu berapa lama ia akan hidup.
